Written Task # 1

Carlajane Silvania 12-HUMSS 16 Written Task # 1 "ALONE TOGETHER" In today’s era where advance technology is present. Sherry Turkle wanted us to understand why people expected more from technology. It is about the new technology that keeps us busy. We text each other to communicate using our mobile phones. Sleep with it.  Furthermore, When someone took away our phones we became anxious as Turkle said. We choose text instead of talk. She also said, Just because we grew up with technology we assume that the internet is all grown up. We tend to see what we have now, is what we are living in the future. Technology is the portal to be with each other. I am strongly agree with Sherry Turkle, due to the fact that I’ve also experienced being anxious when my phone took away from me. I became worried. It also keeps me busy. For example, when I’m scrolling on Facebook I consumed much time. I preferred to text my friends instead of talk. It seems like it has been part of my life. Honestl

Regulating Internet Cafes Near Schools

Silvania, Carlajane T. 12-HUMSS 16 From my perspective, Students should not be allowed to use the internet café during school hours for the reason that it might tempt and distract students to go inside and play computer games. They would not be able to focus on their studies. Internet Cafes near the school might cause students to cut their classes. Some students became addict to computers in a way that they are willing to sacrifice their studies for the sake of computer games. Plus, it is not good for their health due to the fact that they skip their meals on time. In addition, students should not be allowed to play computer games in internet cafes near the school because it will affect their academic performance. Playing computer games will consume their time and a waste of money for them and their parents. It can also affect their behavior, and there is a possibility that they can adapt to the environment inside the internet café. They tend to use bad words to express their emotions
